A budget app for Australian households that looks forward instead of back. Built in Sydney, currently in testing.
Short week from 21 Dec. Plan now, not then.
Your banking app is a rear-view mirror.
Budgits is the windscreen.
People sit there all week with the same questions going round, and no easy way to answer any of them. So they stop asking.
Budgits takes that load off you. It reads your bank file, works out what is committed and what is genuinely yours, and tells you well before a week goes bad — while there is still time to do something about it.
Not your bank balance. What is left once every bill between now and payday is already counted.
Rego, insurance, school fees and Christmas do not arrive by surprise. The dates were known all along. Budgits shows you the collision months out.
The house, the trip, the car. Budgits shows the gap between what you earn and the life you want, and what would close it. Sometimes the honest answer is that the job will not cover it.
Every other budget app in this country counts what you already spent. Useful once a month, and no help at all on the Tuesday you are deciding something.
A full privacy policy and terms go up before anyone is asked to pay. If you want to ask something in the meantime, ask.
Budgits is built by one person in Sydney. No company yet, no investors, no team. That is deliberate while it is still being worked out.
It started because every budget app available here counts what you already spent, and none of them answer the question that actually matters on a Tuesday: what is coming, and will I be alright. So it got built properly, from scratch, against real household data.
What it means in practice is that the person who replies to your email is the person who wrote the code.
Budgits is in testing with real households right now. If you want to know when it opens, or you are a partner wanting to talk, write in and you will get a real reply from a person, not a ticket system.
